  • Author: Jake Miller
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: ½ cup jam
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Bright, sweet, and slightly tangy fig jam made in just five minutes—perfect for toast, cheese boards, or to elevate savory dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1214 fresh figs (≈¾ lb), quartered
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Zest & juice of ½ lemon
  • Pinch of kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Heat a small skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add figs, lemon juice, and salt; cook 2 minutes until figs soften.
  3. Stir in honey and half the lemon zest; cook 1–2 minutes until chunky jam forms.
  4. Remove from heat, stir in remaining zest.
  5. Let cool slightly; spoon into jar and refrigerate. Use within 2 weeks.

Notes

Use frozen or rehydrated figs if fresh aren’t available. Adjust honey to taste. For smoother jam, mash figs more or cook a bit longer.
