Ultimate Cheesy Broccoli Cauliflower Casserole

Description

A bubbling, creamy, cheesy broccoli and cauliflower casserole packed with flavor and comfort.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cups cauliflower florets
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Steam broccoli and cauliflower for 5 minutes until crisp-tender, then drain.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Slowly add milk while whisking. Cook until thickened.
  5. Add garlic powder, mustard powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella until melted and smooth.
  7. Fold in vegetables and pour into a greased 9×13 baking dish.
  8. Top with breadcrumbs evenly.
  9. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  10. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use gluten-free flour and breadcrumbs for a GF version. Add crushed crackers or bacon bits for a twist.
