Description

Juicy chicken and sweet caramelized onions baked under gooey cheese—a comforting casserole perfect for cozy meals.


Ingredients

4 boneless chicken thighs or breasts

3 large yellow onions, thinly sliced

2 cups shredded Swiss or Gruyère cheese

1 cup chicken broth

2 tbsp butter

1 tbsp olive oil

Salt, pepper, thyme to taste


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 180 °C (350 °F).

2. Season chicken and place in a baking dish.

3. Sauté onions in butter until caramelized.

4. Layer onions over chicken and pour in broth.

5. Top with cheese and bake 25–30 minutes.

6. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
