Description
Crockpot Cabbage Roll Casserole has all the comforting flavors of traditional cabbage rolls made easy in one slow cooker. Tender cabbage, ground beef, rice, and tomato sauce come together for a cozy, hearty family dinner.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups chopped cabbage
1 cup uncooked rice
1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
1 cup beef broth
Salt and pepper, to taste
Pinch of paprika
Instructions
1. Brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic in a skillet until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
2. Transfer the cooked beef mixture into the crockpot.
3. Add the chopped cabbage, uncooked rice, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth.
4. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of paprika. Stir to combine.
5. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours or HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until the cabbage is tender and the rice is cooked through.
6. Stir before serving to mix the flavors evenly.
7. Serve warm, optionally topped with shredded cheese or parsley.
Notes
To store: Cool completely, then refrigerate in airtight containers for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
To reheat: Warm gently on the stovetop or in the microwave with a splash of broth to loosen the texture.
Variations: Add diced carrots, bell peppers, or a handful of cheese for extra flavor.
