This ground beef pasta no cream recipe is easy, healthy, and packed with flavor. Enjoy a lighter, satisfying meal with minimal ingredients and maximum taste!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz pasta (penne, spaghetti, or fusilli)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes or 3 fresh tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1 cup optional vegetables (bell peppers, spinach, etc.)

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta: Boil water in a large pot with salt, cook pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook the ground beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, cooking until browned, breaking up the meat into small pieces. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Sauté aromatics: Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until fragrant and translucent.
  • Add tomatoes: Stir in diced or fresh tomatoes, crushing them slightly. Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Season the sauce: Add oregano, basil, red pepper flakes (optional), salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Combine pasta and sauce: Toss the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet. Allow the pasta to absorb the flavors for a few minutes.
  • Optional additions: Stir in vegetables like bell peppers or spinach if desired. Cook until tender.
  • Serve: Garnish with fresh herbs or grated cheese, if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add chili powder.
  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner version.
  • Gluten-free or whole wheat pasta can be used for dietary preferences.
  • Add extra vegetables like zucchini or mushrooms for more nutrition.
