Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups potato chips (plain, ridged preferred)
  • 1 cup high-quality milk chocolate, chopped (e.g., Ghirardelli or Guittard)

Instructions

  • Prepare Ingredients: Set out potato chips on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Prepare optional toppings if using.

  • Melt Chocolate:

    • Double Boiler: Simmer 2 inches of water in a pot. Place chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl over the pot (without touching the water) and stir until melted.

    • Microwave: Heat chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.

  • Coat the Chips:

    • Dip Method: Use a fork or dipping tool to coat each chip in melted chocolate. Tap off excess chocolate and place on the prepared baking sheet.

    • Drizzle Method: Lay chips flat and use a spoon to drizzle chocolate over them in a zigzag pattern.

  • Add Toppings: While chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with sea salt, nuts, or sprinkles if desired.

  • Set the Chocolate: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until chocolate is fully set.
