Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 34 tbsp cold water
  • 1/2 cup fruit jelly (your choice of flavor)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Decorative sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a food processor, blend flour, sugar, salt, and cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add egg yolk and cold water gradually. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll the dough on a floured surface into a ring shape and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Once cooled, spread jelly filling inside the pastry ring.
  7. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the frosting.
  8. Spread frosting over the jelly-filled pastry and decorate with sprinkles.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
