Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 3–4 tbsp cold water
- 1/2 cup fruit jelly (your choice of flavor)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Decorative sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a food processor, blend flour, sugar, salt, and cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add egg yolk and cold water gradually. Mix until a dough forms.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
- Roll the dough on a floured surface into a ring shape and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Once cooled, spread jelly filling inside the pastry ring.
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the frosting.
- Spread frosting over the jelly-filled pastry and decorate with sprinkles.
