Ingredients
For the Sauce:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Ricotta Mixture:
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For Assembly:
- 9–12 sheets Ronzoni lasagna noodles (pre-cooked)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
Instructions

Make the Meat Sauce:
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Add onion and garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer uncovered for 45–60 minutes, stirring occasionally. -
Prepare Ricotta Mixture:
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, and pepper. Stir until just combined. Set aside. -
Preheat Oven & Prepare Dish:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. -
Layer the Lasagna:

Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom.

Place a layer of Ronzoni lasagna noodles.

Spread half the ricotta mixture over noodles.

Sprinkle with half the mozzarella.

Repeat layers: sauce, noodles, ricotta, mozzarella.

Finish with remaining sauce and top with Parmesan cheese.

Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly. -
