Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the cubed potatoes until tender, then mash with butter, cream, salt, and pepper.
  2. Brown the ground beef, then add onions, garlic, and vegetables. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and beef broth. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish, then top with mashed potatoes.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
