- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)

Instructions
- Prepare the Smelt: Clean and gut the smelt fish. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Coat the Fish: In a shallow bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Optionally, coat with breadcrumbs for a crunchier texture.
- Heat the Oil: In a frying pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Fry the Smelt: Place the smelt fish in the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden and crispy.
