Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1 cup warm milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1 large egg
1 cup huckleberries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 cup brown sugar (for filling)
1 tbsp ground cinnamon (for filling)
1/4 cup melted butter (for filling)
1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
1 tbsp lemon juice (for glaze)
Instructions
1. Dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
2. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add the yeast mixture, butter, and egg to form the dough.
3. Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
4. Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and huckleberries.
5. Roll up the dough, cut into 12 pieces, and let them rise for 30 minutes.
6. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes. Drizzle with lemon glaze and serve.
Notes
Use fresh or frozen huckleberries.
Make sure not to overfill the cinnamon rolls to keep the dough from becoming soggy.
