Description
This Spicy Italian Lasagna Soup with Halal sausage brings heat and comfort in one pot. Made with halal turkey sausage, chili flakes, rich tomato broth, and tender lasagna noodles, it’s hearty, flavorful, and perfect for cozy dinners with a kick.
Ingredients
2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb halal turkey sausage, sliced
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
6 cups chicken or vegetable broth
8–10 broken lasagna noodles
1–2 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan (halal-certified)
Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until translucent.
2. Stir in garlic and halal sausage; cook until browned.
3. Add crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, broth, and Italian seasoning.
4. Sprinkle in chili flakes, adjusting to desired spice level.
5. Bring to a simmer, then add broken lasagna noodles. Cook until al dente (10–12 minutes).
6. Remove from heat. Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan until melted and creamy.
7. Garnish with fresh basil and extra chili flakes. Serve hot.
Notes
Start with ½ tsp chili flakes if you prefer a mild kick, and add more for bold heat.
For a creamier soup, stir in a splash of cream or half-and-half before serving.
Add vegetables like spinach, zucchini, or bell peppers for extra flavor and nutrients.
To freeze, store the base without noodles or cheese, then add fresh when reheating.
