Description
This Spicy Raspberry Chipotle Sauce combines sweet raspberries and smoky chipotle peppers into a bold, tangy condiment that elevates everything from grilled meats to cheese boards.
Ingredients
- 2 cups raspberries (fresh or frozen)
- 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (adjust for heat)
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water (as needed for consistency)
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic in a bit of oil until soft and translucent.
- Add chipotle peppers, raspberries, vinegar, sweetener, and salt. Stir to combine.
- Simmer for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the raspberries break down and the mixture thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly, then transfer to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and solids.
- Adjust consistency with water if needed. Taste and tweak spice or sweetness as desired.
- Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for long-term storage.
Notes
Use honey or maple syrup instead of sugar for a refined sugar-free version. Pairs beautifully with pork, chicken, roasted vegetables, or as a dipping sauce for cheese and crackers.
