Stuffed Baked Apples with Oat Crumble

Description

These warm stuffed baked apples are filled with spiced oat crumble and baked until golden and tender. A cozy fall dessert that’s naturally sweet, easy to prepare, and perfect for gatherings or weeknight treats.


Ingredients

6 medium apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Braeburn)

1/2 cup rolled oats

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

Pinch of salt

3 tbsp butter, melted

2 tbsp maple syrup

1/4 cup apple cider or water (for baking dish)


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Wash and core apples using a spoon or melon baller, leaving 1/2 inch at the bottom.

3. In a bowl, mix oats, brown sugar, chopped nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

4. Stir in melted butter and maple syrup until mixture is crumbly.

5. Stuff each apple with the oat mixture, pressing it in gently.

6. Place apples in a baking dish and pour cider or water into the bottom.

7. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.

8. Uncover and bake another 15–20 minutes, until apples are soft and topping is golden.

9. Cool slightly and serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Use different apple varieties for flavor contrast.

Make vegan by using plant-based butter and maple syrup only.

Best served fresh but can be reheated in oven or air fryer.

Double the crumble if you want extra topping around the apples.
