Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 can (14 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
2 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
2 cups beef or chicken broth

Instructions
1. Heat a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef, onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook for 8–10 minutes until beef is browned and veggies are soft.
2. Drain any excess fat if desired.
3. Add kidney beans, pinto beans, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and all spices. Stir to combine.
4. Pour in broth and stir. Bring mixture to a boil.
5. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 45–60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
7. Serve hot with toppings of choice.
Notes
For a spicier chili, add extra chili powder or hot sauce.
